KERATIN

What Is Keratin?
It's a protein that's naturally in your hair. A Keratin treatment is actually a hair smoothing treatment designed to reduce frizz and some formulations may decrease curls. It also increases softness in texture & shine.

How it works:

A Keratin hair treatment product is applied to hair by a trained technician, using the heat of a flat iron to seal it in. The process takes about 90 minutes or longer, depending on your hair's length.

Will this treatment make my hair straight?

Not necessarily. Keratin treatment does not alter the structure of the hair; it is intended to nurture the hair fiber both outside (cuticle) and inside (cortex), leaving the hair strong, shiny, soft and healthier in appearance.

How will my hair respond?
It is important to discuss your desired results with your trained Keratin treatment provider. Here are some basics:

  • Hair that is naturally wavy will appear shiny and straight when blow-dried, controlling frizz from humidity.

  • Curly hair will be more manageable, controlling the curl and minimizing frizz in the curls from humidity.

  • Hair that is straight and frizzy is smoothed and will maintain volume.

  • Chemically treated hair (color, relaxer, highlights) will appear healthier, with increased shine and softness, while controlling frizz.

Can I schedule a Keratin treatment on the same day as my color?
Yes. You can color or highlight just prior to Keratin treatment.

Can I schedule a Keratin treatment after coloring?
Yes. It is recommended that the Keratin treatment is applied after coloring your hair.

How will my hair feel after the treatment?
After the application of treatment, blow-dry and flat iron, the hair will be straight (because of the flat iron straightening) and the cuticle sealed with Keratin. The cortex will also be saturated and sealed with Keratin. This may cause the hair to feel heavier than normal. This heaviness is due to the additional Keratin protein that is present on the hair and will dissipate after washing, feeling smooth, light, and soft.

Time-Saving Benefit:
A Keratin hair-smoothing treatment could shorten your blow-dry time by 40% to 60%.

How long it lasts:
  • Keratin Treatment results last 4-6 months.
  • Express formulation results last 8-10 weeks.

  • Duration of result depending on natural hair type/texture.

Washing Hair:
After you get a Keratin hair treatment, your technician will provide specific instructions for care. Following the “don't-wash” waiting period, you should use sodium-sulfate-free shampoo to help maintain the treatment. Your technician will recommend formulation and brands for optimal maintenance.

PERMANENT WAVE

What is a permanent wave?

A permanent wave, sometimes called a “perm”, is a chemical hair treatment that can be used to reshape hair (add curl, wave, semi-straighten curly hair or increase hair body/volume).

Have there been developments in permanent waves?
Today’s perm technology has been significantly improved. Stylists often utilize perms to complement cut by adding texture, volume and style to hair.

Is a permanent wave bad for my hair?

A permanent wave that is applied by a trained technician should not damage hair any more than typical hair coloring or hair straightening treatments.

How long does a permanent wave last?

A permanent wave lasts approximately 6 months and does not “grow out” like other treatments. Instead, it softens as it grows.

Time-Saving Benefit:

A permanent wave may cut style time by up to 80%, reducing or even eliminating the need for rollers, irons and other styling tools.

SCALP STEAM THERAPY

What is scalp steam therapy?
Scalp steam therapy uses heated water vapor/steam to deliver a deep conditioning treatment. This penetrates the hair roots and fibers, releasing moisture into the scalp, thus allowing the scalp to cleanse, purify, open clogged pores and release toxins.

What are the benefits of scalp steam therapy?
Steaming scalp clears pores, removes plaque and may increase collagen production and blood flow. This has been found to benefit those suffering from hair loss. It also aids in the reduction of sebum, a root cause of dry flakes in the scalp, due to clogged hair follicles. Steaming the scalp unclogs pores and manages sebum levels, providing maximum opportunity for healthy scalp and hair growth, and sometimes regrowth.

We offer our clients various types and formulations of scalp therapy. Our trained technicians will individualize a treatment for your hair, scalp and lifestyle needs.
